Flowers
Collection

Still life, with its simple vase of flowers, holds profound meaning beyond mere realism, a theme often explored in classical paintings. For me, this subject represents deeper layers of significance. The vase, a vessel holding water, parallels my own body as a container of life's potential. The flowers symbolize memories of the season, which I collect in a ritualistic tribute to the present moment, often gathering them on walks before painting in my studio.

As I work from direct models, the flowers transform before my eyes, embodying the transient beauty of nature. Leaves curl, petals wilt, and fall, honoring the essence of time.

This series aspires to be created with at least 70% reused or recycled materials. The canvases vary in size, repurposed from those discarded by others, and I utilize house paints and acrylics to reduce waste. My intent is to minimize my environmental footprint, embracing sustainability while creating meaningful art.
